I think that his motive was to prepare you for if you were to ever try it and he would rather you do it with him than at a party where you could get hurt or into trouble. I think parents who believe that their kids will never experiment with drugs or alcohol are ignorant he jst wanted you to try it in a controlled environment. plus look you decided you dont like it so he kinda did his job.
