My Astro Van is making a noise that sounds like it's dragging a chain, a low level "tinking", jingle rattle.

You're lucky it runs. Mine was a piece of shiit. Be thankful and ignore the noise. If it gets louder turn up the radio. That was the only thing on mine that worked from one day to the next.
