I want to use fleece as bedding for a rat that has bumblefoot but he hates it as well as carefresh... ???

You could try putting a kennel pad made for dogs (as long as the cover is water-proof) on the bottom of his cage, he wouldn't be able to kick it out and it would be harder for him to move due to the weight and size, you could try putting puppy pads over that, and to hold them down use clips on the sides of the kennel pad. To help keep him cool/if he likes to have a cool surface to lay on, you could put either a marble tile (either bought at a place like Lowe's/Home Depot, or one made for rodents like this: a href="http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Chinchilla-Chin-Chiller-Granite/dp/B000A7707O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1247334639&sr=8-1)" rel="nofollow"http://www.amazon.com/Super-Pet-Chinchil…/a and put a thinnish layer of fabric over it, enough so he can still feel the cool but have a softer place to lay.
