Crochet - how to start new yarn?

I'm learning to crochet and making a small blanket. My cat decided to chew through my yarn today... I got to the end of the row with the yarn that was left, but now I need to know how to start new yarn for the next row. Is there a good video showing how to do this, or can someone give good instructions?
